A Virtual Reality Laboratory for Blended Learning Education: Design, Implementation and Evaluation

Launched during the pandemic, EU-funded JANUS project aimed to ensure continuity of student workshops at universities using a virtual reality (VR) robotics laboratory. With return normality, has been redesigned capitalise on positive outcomes experience. The VR lab provides safe and unrestricted access labs experiments with machines, reducing consequences mistakes improving user experience by allowing experiment be repeated from different angles, some which are impossible in real lab. In addition, integration an interactive learning platform called “ViLLE” allows for continuous assessment Self-evaluation material taught learned can integrated execution exercises that pave way Kaizen. Two blended were developed project. Their evaluation reported favourable responses students whose performance was indirectly measured.
